To catch you up to speed, I’m going to give you a brief rundown of the things that have been happening these past few days. After giving you the rest of the Lucknow Road Trip Story, I think short & sweet will be a refreshing change!
After our trip to Lucknow, I was eager to find a place to exchange the rest of my money. We checked several banks, but had no luck. At the end of the first day, we made our way to a nearby dam to enjoy the weather and each other’s company. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take pictures of the dam, it was prohibited… But I did see monkeys, hopped a fence, and wandered into the park below.
On the second day of hunting for a place to get my money exchanged, the first thing that happened was a little girl peered into the car to stare at me, after I climbed in. Then DN gave me some lovely flowers. ^_^ While DN was on the phone searching for a place, a little boy came to my window to beg for money. He appeared out of nowhere, saying “Didi, Didi…” (Didi meaning elder sister) and putting his fingers to his lips. I felt bad for the kid, but I know the protocol. We finally found a place to exchange my money and spent about an hour in the office waiting. This is about the time that I found out DN would be leaving almost immediately for Delhi.
A very yummy dinner, I enjoyed the night before:
I met DN, Via and Uncle yesterday, as they accompanied me to get a new phone! We wandered down this alley to find the shop:
I had to say goodbye to DN that day. It was difficult, but I’m proud of him. He’s doing what he has to do for himself. I wished him good luck on his journey.
Today I took a taxi (auto rickshaw), went shopping for toothpaste, bought some oranges from a fruit cart, and wandered around Rani Lakshmibai Park!
Thought of the day (this would blow some minds):
Alright, that’s a wrap! Stay tuned to find out my next move!
